Roosevelt Row is downtown Phoenix's arts district — murals on the walls, galleries and patios on the street, and a skyline that's changed fast in the last few years. We're at 214 E Roosevelt, in the monOrchid building, sharing a roof with some of the best stops on the block. Here's who's around.

Rip Valley is in the monOrchid building at 214 E Roosevelt — the same address as a coffee bar, a brewery, a sushi bar and a gallery. We're in the space that used to be Phoenix General. Park once, do the whole building.

Roosevelt Row grew out of artists taking over cheap storefronts in the 1990s, and the murals are still the reason people wander the block — La Morena, Ashley Macias, Thomas “Breeze” Marcus and Lalo Cota all have walls within a few minutes of our door, and the 1½ Street mural project next to The Churchill is the easiest place to see a lot at once.
What's changed is everything around the walls. The last few years brought a run of new towers, bars and restaurants — including the 29-story Sol Modern on Fillmore, three blocks south of Roosevelt — and more is planned along Roosevelt itself. It means more people on the street every night of the week, not just on event nights. We think that's a good place for a card shop to be.
